Capital One Grand Slam of Curling: Grey Power Players’ Championship Broadcast Schedule
CBC to air live playoff coverage of the men’s and women’s final

GRANDE PRAIRIE, ALTA., April 14, 2009 – On Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19 CBC Television and CBCSports.ca will air live playoff coverage of the Grey Power Players’ Championship, the eighth and final 2008-09 Capital One Grand Slam of Curling event.

As the official television broadcaster of the Capital One Grand Slam of Curling, CBC Television will air the women’s final on Saturday, April 18 at 3:00 p.m. ET and the men’s final on Sunday, April 19 at 12:00 p.m. ET.  Additionally, on Saturday, April 18, CBC’s digital channel bold will present live coverage of the men’s quarterfinals at 6:30 p.m. ET and live coverage of the men’s semi-finals at 10:00 p.m. ET.  For information on how to order bold, viewers can call their local television service provider or visit boldtv.ca.

CBC Sports will also provide live broadband coverage of the men’s quarterfinals and semi-finals, as well as of the men’s and women’s finals, exclusively at CBCSports.ca.

As part of its exclusive agreement, CBC aired live playoff coverage of the first three men’s 2008-09 Capital One Grand Slam of Curling events.  CBC also holds the exclusive rights to the playoffs of the men’s and women’s Grey Power Players’ Championship.

Held annually since 2001-02, the Capital One Grand Slam of Curling is a series of eight high-profile men’s and women’s events that feature Canada’s deepest and strongest curling fields. 

Through their performance in the Capital One Grand Slam events, rinks can earn a significant amount of points towards securing a berth at the 2009 Canadian Trials and Canadian Pre-Trails events.
